What is an executive suite?
Executive Suites offer single offices for rent with shared facilities such as reception areas, conference rooms, mail services, etc. Executive suites are ideal for businesses or branches that don’t have a large number of employees but need a business address and/or access to amenities. They typically executive suite will have a full time receptionist available to send and receive packages and to receive guests. In addition, most executive suites will allow you to sign a 6-12 month lease, which is significantly more flexible than the typical 3 year lease requirement for most office buildings.
National Executive Suite Companies:
There are a number of national companies that offer executive suites for rent. A major advantage to leasing an executive from one of these large companies is the ability to use their facilities in other locations. For example, if you lease an executive suite in Austin, TX, but have to go to New York for a week, if the company you lease from has a facility in New York, it’s usually pretty easy for you to reserve a conference room or office at that facility.
Why a PO Box doesn’t work for a primary business address?
Many executive suite companies offer a “virtual office” package that includes an address, mail services, some reception services and the ability to reserve conference facilities or an office in the short term. This option is ideal for someone who mostly works at home but needs an office address and the ability to occasionally see clients in an office setting.
1) Most “virtual office” packages don’t cost much more than a post office box.
2) Any type of entity you create for your business (e.g. Corporation, partnership, limited liability company, etc.) requires an address and PO Boxes do not qualify. Therefore, if you don’t have an office address, you have to use your residential address.
3) You can’t receive packages from private carriers such as FedEx or UPS at a PO Box.
4) Some licenses require your business address be properly zoned for your business and PO Boxes are not accepted.
5) Your business will appear far more credible with an address in an office building than a PO Box.
